We are the University of Cumbria, a place where people are at the heart of all we do, where enriching the lives of our students, staff and the communities we serve means we make a difference that really matters.

Now is a very exciting time to be joining us because we are delivering a new strategic plan focused on making the most of our three most valuable assets;
People, Place and Partnerships, to become a catalyst for economic well-being for our region, nationally and internationally.

This is an exciting opportunity for current students at the University of Cumbria to gain valuable experience through a research internship.

You will be working alongside a team of researchers in the Institute of Business, Industry and Leadership, Lancaster City Council and Lancaster District Community Voluntary Solutions (LDCVS) to support the delivery of a research and knowledge exchange project called Netmakers.

The project is designed to better understand and support the many voluntary, community, faith, and social enterprise organisations (VCFSE) that bring together the social safety net across the Lancaster district.

The project is also expected to enable the VCFSE sector to learn more about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and to develop a better understanding of how the SDGs might be reached locally.

We are looking for up to three students who are interested in developing their research skills to support this project.

You should also have good organisation and communication skills and work well within a team.

The posts are budgeted to provide up to 100 hours across the project shared between the successful applicants, and the overall project is to be completed by the end of March 2023.

This is a flexible working opportunity, which can fit around student studies and work/home life commitments.
