Are you an organised, motivated and helpful individual looking for an opportunity to be part of a friendly and dynamic team? A position has become available in the Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) team working alongside the Data Manager, Stem Cell Lab and Clinical team to gather and report data. This provides assistance and support to the daily functioning of the BMT programme.

You will be contributing to the development of the service during a time of exciting change.

The post holder will be based at City Hospital campus.
Main duties of the job


The main duties of the post holder will be tasks that relate to the gathering and submission of data for the European Group for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (EBMT) and the British Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation and Cellular Therapy (BSBMTCT).

The post-holder will also provide dedicated support to the wider BMT department, assisting with administration, data and information related tasks in order to support daily function and workload.


The post-holder will also support the non-interventional studies and audits undertaken on behalf of the EBMT and the BSBMTCT as required.

These duties are key to our continued accreditation for JACIE/FACT and licencing under HTA.

The BMT programme is a quality driven, busy, patient focused part of the malignant haematology team. Your input will be required for all aspects of the programme including apheresis, laboratory and inpatient/outpatient activity.

Qualifications:

Essential criteria

  • Appropriate diploma and/or other relevant professional qualification or a minimum of 2 years' experience in clinical data
  • An understanding of medical terminology
Desirable criteria

  • Degree

  • Experience in the handling and management of computer databases with a welldeveloped understanding of data entry and data validation techniques
  • Computer literate with experience of Microsoft Office, including Access, Word and Excel
  • Experience in interpreting and coding medical data

  • Experience in using large and/or complex relational databases
  • Experience of working within a haematology, oncology and/or clinical trial setting
  • Ability to generate reports and extract information from a database
  • Experience in using Hospital Information Systems
