Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Principal Clinical Psychologist to join our working age Adult Inpatient Psychology team in North Cumbria working alongside a multi disciplinary team including an Assistant Psychologist.


The acute working age inpatients wards are based at the Carleton Clinic in Carlisle across two 10 bed wards H1 and H2.

This post holder will be providing psychological input into both wards.


You will be responsible for providing high quality evidence based psychological assessment, formulation, and interventions to service users on the two wards and be part of the leadership team.

You will also be responsible for providing advice, consultation, and training to colleagues on psychological aspects of assessment, formulation, care, and treatment.


You will also be part of the wider inpatient Psychological Service in North Cumbria which consists of Clinical Psychologists, a CBT Therapist and Assistant Psychologists.

You will have access to regular supervision and CPD. The post holder will be expected to make offer clinical training placements to D.Clin. Psychol trainees.

The post is at Principal Clinical Psychologist level (Band 8b).

The post will increase the provision of psychological care within the working age adult wards in Carlisle and will bring further senior clinical expertise to the multi-disciplinary teams.
