HARPENDEN

SALARY UP TO £55K PER ANNUM DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE, OFFICE & SITE BASED ROLE, OFFICE-HARPENDEN AND SITES IN LONDON AND SURROUNDING AREAS
Our client carries out a wide range of projects for a variety of clients.

Their extensive demolition experience from high-rise and large scale industrial demolition to façade retention, structural alterations, strip out works, asbestos surveys and removal, remediation & bulk excavation, groundworks and RC Frames place them at the forefront of innovative deconstruction and construction.

They now require a Health & Safety Advisor to join their successful team based in Harpenden.


Role & Responsibilities
The Health and Safety Advisor will be involved in a mixture of duties, such as:

  • To check and review, coordinate with subcontractors' rams, make sure all systems are in place etc.
  • To assist in the preparation and submission of any PQQ's.
  • To lead with ISO accreditations, combined 18001, 14001 & 9001, mainly health & safety but ideally be prepared to assist with environmental and some quality.
  • Supported by their inhouse administration team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing health and safety policies and procedures in line with legal requirements and industry best practices.
  • Developing and maintaining comprehensive health and safety policies, procedures and guidelines tailored to the specific needs of construction projects and operations.
  • Producing CPP's and conducting regular risk assessments and site inspections to identify potential hazards, recommending appropriate control measures to mitigate risks effectively.
  • Collaborating with Project Managers, Site Managers and Site Supervisors to promote a proactive safety culture, always ensuring adherence to health and safety standards. Providing expert advice, guidance and training to employees, contractors, and other stakeholders on health and safety matters, including the use of personal protective equipment and safe work practices.
  • Investigating accidents, incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Monitoring and evaluating health and safety performance, analysing data and producing reports to identify trends, areas for improvement and opportunities for enhancing safety initiatives. Keeping in line of new legislation, regulations and industry standards related to health and safety, ensuring compliance and recommending necessary updates to company policies and procedures.
  • Liaising with external regulatory bodies, clients and contractors regarding health and safety matters. Conducting regular audits and inspections to assess the effectiveness of health and safety programs, identifying noncompliance issues and recommending corrective actions.
  • Acting as the company's representative for health and safety communications, promoting awareness campaigns, organising training sessions and ensuring effective circulation of information.

Requirements:


  • Essential to have NEBOSH General or Construction.
  • Desirable to have IOSH.
  • UK regulations experience essential.
  • Ideally minimum 3 years' experience in Construction.
  • Keen to learn mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Salary:
£50,000.00-£55,000.00 per year


Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • No weekends

Supplemental pay types:
