Job Summary:


To carry out a wide range of general duties on highways, in public parks and playing fields, landscaped areas, and open spaces.


Duties:

Carry out highways repair and construction work under supervision.

Carry out traffic management.

Attend road traffic incidents and emergency road closures.

Carry out ground based tree work.

To be responsible for the Cleansing of an area, including fly tipping removal.

Undertake ditching works and clear blocked drains and culverts.

To operate a range of powered hand tools and light plant, and the operation of tractor mounted equipment.

To work with mínimal supervision and take responsibility for the direction of work of trainees and/or other employees.

To drive, and be responsible for a vehicle where this is allocated

To comply with the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act including the wearing of appropriate PPE.

To implement any changes in work methods, equipment and technology as required including completion of all necessary paperwork

To undergo training as necessary to fulfil the role.

If necessary to work any five out of seven days between 7am and 7pm.


Job Type:
Temporary contract

Contract length: 3 months


Pay:
£12.38 per hour

Expected hours: 37 per week

Open Spaces Service: 3 years (required)

  • General construction and maintenance skills and knowledge: 1 year (required)

Language:


  • English and Welsh (required)

Licence/Certification:
