About the Role:


Hedingham Medical Centre are seeking a receptionist/care navigator to join our growing practice on a part-time basis for 10.5 hours per week, covering Monday 13:00-18:30 & Thursday 13:30-18:30, across our two sites.


In this essential front-line role at the practice, receptionists help patients to access the right services, assist with keeping health records accurate and up-to-date, and ensure that appointment bookings are well-managed.


The main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Greeting and directing all patients;
  • Making appointments and giving out appointment cards, where required;
  • Accepting, issuing and handing out prescriptions, letters, completed forms, specimen bottles, etc.;
  • Dealing with requests for information, and managing problems and complaints;
  • Advising patients of practice procedures;
  • Registering new patients;
  • Answering the telephone, promptly.
  • Wellmotivated and enthusiastic.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication & organisational skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Cando attitude.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Flexibility to provide holiday and sickness cover.
  • Ideally NHS experience and familiar with SystmOne.

About Us:


We are rated Good by the CQC and have a practice population of 9320 patients and dispense to 55% over our two active sites in the Hedinghams, with plans to move to a purpose built site very soon.

We offer 5.6 weeks annual leave (pro rata) and an NHS Pension.
