Description

An opportunity has arisen for a Principal Psychologist/Head of Psychology to join a recognised provider of prisons for male offenders within the UK.

At their Staffordshire site (HMP Dovegate) they run a 200-bed democratic Therapeutic Community (TC); along-term treatment intervention working on offending behaviour for prisoners with personality difficulties; where participants in treatment live together in a community-based setting.

Along with a salary of £66,972 per annum, you will also receive, a bonus,company, car, progression and career development opportunities and a benefits package.


  • An experienced psychology professional, with a proven track record in forensic psychology, gained either within the Prison Service or the NHS, or both.
  • Chartered BPS status
  • Ideally on the Register of Applied Psychology Practice Supervisors (RAPPS)
  • Significant experience managing and leading teams of clinical and professional staff
  • Experience of conducting a range of psychological assessments
  • Experience of formal report writing
