Job IntroductionDo you want to play a key role supporting nature's recovery in Staffordshire?
We are looking for a liaison officer to work with farmers, landowners, partners and residents to help develop a new Local Nature Recovery Strategy for Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.
Based with our Environment & Countryside Service and working with the Nature Recovery Partnership, this varied role will involve engaging with people across the area, gathering and analysing data and insight to help shape future priorities for wildlife conservation.
Main Responsibilities
Main responsibilities include:
- Support development of the Local Nature Recovery Strategy for Staffordshire and Stoke, working with partners and stakeholders.
- Liaising with farmers and landowners to gather views and information and to discuss delivery mechanisms to support nature recovery.
- Raising awareness of the importance of nature recovery and how people can get involved.
- Gather evidence, data and insight to inform nature recovery priorities across the area.
- Organise events, surveys and activities.
Your good understanding of environmental policy and management, nature recovery and farming practice will provide the foundation for this role, with your key skills in engagement, communication and gathering and interpreting data.
A general understanding of strategy development and organising events would be beneficial, and the ability to undertake field visits will be essential.
