As a Regional Fleet Manager at Veolia, your purpose is to ensure that the Regional Fleet is managed efficiently, within legal guidelines and Veolia's policies and procedures, adding value to the Regional operating business.

You will be required to workwith the Regional internal and external maintenance providers ensuring best value and quality of all aspects of the Fleet, essentially working as part of the Regional Fleet Services team working to continuously improve performance.

What will you be doing?

  • Legal compliance of operating assets, including yellow plant, workshop operations and health & safety requirements.
  • Manage and support the Region in achieving and maintaining full compliance with Veolia Fleet Management data record systems and processes.
  • Minimise the whole life cost of operating assets and increase asset availability.
  • Active engagement with the operating businesses, including fleet driven improvement initiatives & business development.
  • Line management of internal Workshop Managers, Supervisors and their respective team members including Fitters, Apprentices, Stores and Administration functions.
  • Management of internal workshops and other external maintenance providers, to maintain service requirements in line with operational activities.
  • Management of the workshop(s) P&Ls for fleet maintenance to add value to the regional business activity through vigorous cost control.
  • Close liaison with the Regional business to ensure best practice initiatives are maintained.
  • To lead, manage, train and develop your team to maximise innovation and a 'can do' culture.

What are we looking for?

  • City & Guilds 1,2,3, HNC or ONC in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance.
  • Excellent understanding of Fleet compliance.
  • Good knowledge of vehicle specifications/Engineering and plant.
  • Good understanding of cost and the ability to demonstrate where savings can be achieved.
  • Excellent communication & negotiating skills, with the ability to work to strict time control constraints.
  • Proven skills in managing inhouse workshops and external maintenance suppliers.
  • Operator's License / legislative requirements preferably a CPC holder.
  • Proven skills in leading & developing staff to maximise efficiency
  • Management of P&L within the fleet / operational environment with proven change management experience.
  • Excellent technical abilities, including advanced diagnosis skills.
