Fraterno are delighted to announce a brand new Senior Litigator role, in the CWI dept of our Sheffield based client.

Our client is one of the country's fastest growing law firms, and they are looking to add quality people to their rapidly expanding team.

This role offers 2 days working from home


The CWI Litigator is responsive for effective file handling and client care in pursuing a claim for compensation on the Client's behalf.

A Cavity Wall claim arises when a Client has contracted for cavity wall insulation to be installed in their home.

This was most commonly undertaken with funding for the work provided direct to the installer by central government. Installation was often undertaken in properties which were unsuitable for CWI and/or the installation was completed improperly.

Either scenario is known to cause:

  • Penetrating damp
  • Cold spots on walls
  • Accumulation of mould spores
  • Condensation.
  • The claims arising are for rectification costs, redecorating and associated costs and general damages.
Primary Duties

  • Run your own caseload through the litigation process to Trial, ensuring that all claims are up to date and progressed in the correct time frame and according to approved processes
  • Taking potential customers through a full claim assessment and fact find over the phone and assessing if they have had a financial loss and if a claim can be made.
  • To review incoming information and establish the claim route,
  • Establish at the earliest opportunity an entity who a claim can be brought against
  • Checking all compliance requirements were on the file, i.e. Research, AML evidence, Terms of Business
  • Request all relevant information from the relevant parties as soon as identified
  • Be proactive and use initiative when presented with problems or issues
  • Provide excellent customer service by regularly updating clients on the progress of their case, costs and answering any queries in a professional manner
  • Be proactive in your approach to the role by constantly researching the area of law you practice and keeping up to date with all relevant case law/industry updates
  • Working with litigation assistant(s), delegating work to them and supporting and training them to develop their technical ability and assist with their career development
Skills & Attributes

Required

  • Excellent technical skills in the field of litigation, an ability to make a considered judgement call and a proven history of meeting and exceeding client expectations.
  • Organisational and prioritising skills are also essential to meet the demands of challenging internal and external clients.
  • Good teamwork skills and the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels are essential.

£35,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
