We have an exciting opportunity for an experiencedShift Team Leader to join our dynamic team in Marchwood.


The job purpose for this position is to be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Energy Recovery Facility, managing a shift team and day operations staff.

What will you be doing?

  • Ensuring compliance with all aspects of the site environmental permits
  • Operate / monitor plant from a central control room, operate plant and equipment as required by the operation demands on the ERK, including mobile plant and refuse crane
  • Provide technical supervision and assistance where necessary for company and contract staff
  • Train and monitor shift staff to ensure personnel are competent to undertake their duties
  • Liaise with other company staff as required to provide efficient work scheduling and planning to ensure minimum turnaround times during plant outages

What are we looking for?

  • An experienced Engineer / Technician ideally having completed a recognised Engineering apprenticeship / training
  • ONC or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline
  • An understanding of current Environmental / Health and Safety issues
  • Knowledge of Regulatory requirements
  • Broad experience gained through shift working in a continuous process environment, preferably in a Waste Incineration environment
  • Ability to lead an operations shift team to ensure adherence with procedures and effective utilisation of staff
