Our client, a Local Authority based in
Cheshire is looking for an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) to join its team.

Pay rate would be up to
£37/Hr.

Responsibilities of the role:


  • As an AMHP you will ensure that the requirements of the Mental health Act 1983 (Amended MHA are met and that patient's rights under the Act are upheld
  • Early intervention and prevention are the key focus for the AMHP role, and it is anticipated that you will interchange between AMHP and integrated CMHT's as needed
  • Caseloads will be allocated on the basis that a person is deteriorating or have a long relationship with the MHA to enable staff to promote early intervention and prevention
  • You will provide support to less experienced members of staff and practice experience for trainee AMHPs
  • As an independent professional you must exercise your own judgement based on the social and medical evidence in deciding whether to detain a person under the MHA
  • Receive and triage all referrals and pass to the appropriate service to prioritise. Identifying appropriate and inappropriate referrals and offering training

Requirements of the role:


  • Social work degree or equivalent qualification
  • AMHP qualified
  • Registered with Social Work England
