Description

This post is a pivotal support role for the clinical trials team in order to provide data support to the Clinical Trials Team.

This post will involve coordination of patient pathways, transcribing of clinical trials information and liaison with trials units and sponsors; assisting in achieving targets for speed and quality of research information.

Janine Birch, Lead Research Nurse, extension 527- Coordinate and be responsible for the collection and input of clerical and other data necessary for clinical trial purposes, checking data is accurately completed/recorded and ensure completion by other Trust staff, as required

  • Liaise with clinical trials units; ensure data is reported to trials units in a timely manner. Ensure data queries are answered and reported within set deadlines.
  • Ensure trial records are accurately maintained, including, but not limited to: records in nursing/medical notes, case report forms, trial site files.
  • Responsible for setting up and maintain spreadsheets/databases on patient recruitment into clinical trials, including EDGE Report on data collection/patient recruitment as required.
  • Ensure trial protocols are followed and that trials are conducted according to the Research Governance Framework, EU Clinical Trials Directive EU2001/20EC and Good Clinical Practice.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with the Data Protection Act 199
  • Report any protocol violations or issues of concern relating to patients and/or staff Assist in achieving the targets for speed of research and quality of research.
  • Updating intranet and internet sites as required
  • Lead on data collection for an agreed number of specific clinical trials.
  • Identify efficient methods for data collection across the West Midlands Research Network.
