About The Role:


These positions are part of Homelessness, Independence and Preventative Services which adopts a preventative approach across the housing, health and social care agendas.

If you want to work in the public sector, be part of a progressive team and enjoy providing practical support, this is a unique opportunity for you as we are interested in what you can bring to help us improve and develop our services for our residents.


You will need to be energetic and enthusiastic and you will need excellent interpersonal skills to quickly build up rapport and trust with residents and other professionals.

You will proactively learn on the job to build up your knowledge and skills.


Key Responsibilities:


  • In line with relevant legislation to carry out holistic housing and needs assessments assessments.
  • Promote personal independence and resilience to ensure accommodation can be maintained and sustained.
  • Devise, monitor and review personalised housing and resettlement plans.

Your Skills:


  • A great communicator to engage effectively with a broad range of people.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • You take personal responsibility for your work and handle stress effectively while maintaining high levels of motivation and enthusiasm.
  • Able to work collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies to achieve successful outcomes.

Professional Qualifications:

Basic DBS Check is required for the role.

This post is considered by the authority to be a customer-facing position; as such it falls within scope of the Code of Practice on English language requirement for public sector workers.

The council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.

**Interviews will be held in February 2023 and will take place virtually via MS Teams.
