Do you have previous building survey experience? Within this role you will carry out physical surveys and inspections to deliver the rolling stock condition survey programme, as agreed with the Survey Team Leader, ensuring that asset data on the condition and attributes for each residential property is recorded and uploaded onto the Asset Management System.

Main Duties:


  • To carry out physical surveys and inspections to deliver the rolling stock condition survey programme ensuring that asset data on the condition and attributes of each residential property is recorded and uploaded onto the asset management system.
  • To contribute to the provision of a comprehensive survey service to the highest professional standard.
  • To liaise with other professionals, housing management staff and tenants, where required to ensure a customerfocused and responsive delivery of the service.
  • To meet with the survey team leader to discuss progress on the completion of the 5year survey programme ensuring continual delivery of a quality service.
  • To prepare design and construction drawings and specifications for various types of commissions undertaken by asset strategy, if and when required, via computeraided design & drafting tools etc.
  • To undertake and assist with tenant consultation as required.
  • To contribute to the effective delivery of a Quality Service through the formulation, review and proper implementation of policies and procedures.
  • To comply with all frameworks, policies and procedures, including, but not limited to, those relating to legal requirements such as equality, health and safety and information governance.
  • To participate and/or facilitate Working Groups, Committees and other internal forums as required.
  • To engage in benchmarking in and outside the sector to ensure the best practice in the delivery of property surveys.

Personal Attributes:


  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional/technical qualification in a relevant Building/Construction discipline, plus 2 years post qualification relevant* experience.

OR

  • A relevant BTEC Higher Certificate/Diploma or equivalent qualification in a relevant Building/Construction discipline, plus 3 years relevant postqualification experience.

OR

  • Can demonstrate equivalent continuing professional development or experiential learning and at least 4 years of relevant* experience


Relevant experience must include experience for the required period of time in carrying out physical surveys, inspections and the provision of technical reports in a domestic or commercial environment.


Can demonstrate experience in:


  • Carrying out inspections of domestic properties to identify defects and recommend solutions with associated costs.
  • Preparing basic plans/drawings following onsite surveys.
  • Inspecting completed works to ensure it meets satisfactory quality standards compliant with current statutory requirements (e.g. Building Control etc).
  • Using I.T. systems/ mobile devices to carry out all technical duties and communication.

Can demonstrate (To be assessed at interview):

  • Ability to work accurately under pressure to multiple deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Strong customer orientation
  • Effective oral and written communication skills including the preparation and presentation of technical reports
  • Possess a current driving licence or have access to a form of transport that enables them to meet the requirements of the post in full.

Remuneration and Conditions of Assignment:

- £10.39 per hour

  • Positions available in both Armagh and Newry
  • Fulltime, Temporaryongoing
  • 9 am5 pm, Monday-Friday
  • Basic Access NI Required at a cost of £1
