Digital Services are looking to recruit Application Support Officers on a
permanent contract working 37.5 hours per week.


This role is part of the wider EPR solution and as such will be exciting and challenging position which will make a difference to staff and patients across Nottinghamshire.


In addition to the qualities in the Person Specification, you will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and work effectively both within a team and independently.


The post holder will not have any direct patient contact but will have access to confidential and sensitive patient information - therefore a standard level CRB check will be required for the post.

  • NUH has over 18,000 staff and believes in helping those staff constantly improve their skills and knowledge. This is an exciting time to be part of Digital Services at NUH as we embark on the replacement of our existing EPR systems and deploy digital solutions which will support our staff and process for the next years.
At present a significant proportion of the Digital Service teams are working from home using loaned NUH equipment.

This is in response to the Pandemic, but you will still be expected, to be on site at City and QMC hospitals and travel between them (A free medilink bus service is available for staff) during the day.

NUH are currently monitoring the blended working approach of its staff, and circumstances may change in the future requiring you to work more at the hospital sites.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Support the implementation of new systems across the Trust, supporting both non-clinical and clinical teams, in particular EPR.

Gain exposure to a range of systems, operations, processes, and strategies.


Be part of a dedicated and welcoming team and enjoy a diverse, interesting and challenging role in a fast-moving environment.

Provide continued support to existing hospital systems.

Work with departments across the Trust and leads within the team to ensure all new systems are correctly scoped.

Support extensive system testing prior to system implementation/upgrades.

Complete documentation in accordance with our processes.

Provide second line support for Digital Services supported systems.

Qualifications:

Essential criteria

  • Trained in some NHS IT systems
  • Achieved an IT computer qualification (ECDL or equivalent)
Desirable criteria

  • Awareness of ITIL Service Management methodology.
Experience

Essential criteria

  • Knowledge and awareness of users of ICT across the NHS or another large organisation
  • Experience of working with teams and individuals from both technical and nontechnical backgrounds to solve IT problems.
  • Excellent track record of document management
  • Experience of issue resolution
  • Experience of successfully supporting changes
  • Experience of liaising with external suppliers

Salary:
The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
