Overview:
To purchase goods and materials to ensure that the company operational needs are met, taking in to account price, quality, delivery, and continuity of supply
Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Monitor and advise on issues which present risk or opportunity to the organisation.
- To negotiate supply arrangements, contracts of supply, pricing, and terms of business with suppliers and to review opportunities to ensure competitive cost of supply.
- To provide suppliers with monthly forecasts to enable consistent product supply and on time deliveries.
- Prepare reports and updates as and when required.
- Conduct research for potential new suppliers and components
- Assess and evaluate suppliers and contribute to performance reviews to ensure quality, supply, regulatory and compliance requirements are met.
- Prepare and raise purchase orders and expedite purchase orders to meet MRP and forward demands.
- Reschedule material requirements to reflect changes in business needs or priorities.
- Optimise safety stocks to minimise excess stockholding and potential obsolescence.
- Resolve problems and issues from stock shortages and take appropriate and timely action.
- Manage shortage reports and statistics.
- Work with suppliers to optimize lead times and batch sizes with suppliers.
- Attend daily production meetings and liaise internally as required_._
- To undertake regular reviews with key suppliers on KPIs including price, on time delivery, quality, and lead time reductions.
- Develop SAP tools and utilisation to improve procurement and stock efficiency.
- Investigate and resolve price, quality, delivery, or invoicing issues.
- Represent the company is supplier meetings which may require occasional travel to suppliers.
Experience and Key Skills:
- Able to manage time effectively, prioritise tasks and achieve set targets.
- Able to work well under pressure
- Keen attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong numeracy & accuracy skills
- MS Office experience and SAP experience preferred
- Managing supplier relations and negotiating contracts, prices and timelines
- Excellent interpersonal skills
Pay:
£28,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
