Full Time, 5 month FTC - Materials Management Assistant.
We are pleased to assist our valued client who is a large public health provider based in Coventry.

We are looking for a materials management assistants to join their busy department to assist the Materials Management Officers and Receipts & Distribution Managerin providing and maintaining an efficient and cost effective materials management service to wards and departments as part of the internal supply chain service.

The role holders will be expected to provide support to the Materials Management function by putting away stock in ward and department storerooms, ensuring the store rooms are kept tidy at all times and the stock items delivered are correct so that agreed stocklevels are maintained, taking responsibility for the security of goods from the point of receipt.

They will assist the Materials Management Officers with arranging returns and reporting shortages, discrepancies, damaged goods etc., and plan delivery and returnschedules, and provide cover for Officers in their absence.

They will also be responsible for participating in formal audits of materials management work areas in accordance with quality assurance standards, complying with the principles of risk managementincluding health and safety legislation, and undertaking any other tasks as required in accordance with the post.


  • Be IT literate, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Be skilled in the movement, handling and storage of goods, preferably with Handling & Moving Training with appropriate certification
  • Have experience in material management experience, and in handling & moving heavy roll cages and packages, ideally within a similar environment
  • Understand materials management processes and procedures and use of data capture and ordering systems
  • Be able to communicate effectively with customers and suppliers, in a confident, friendly and approachable manner
  • Be able to cope with distressing and emotional sights and situations and exposure to dust and ward smells
  • Be able to work on own initiative and to prioritise and organise own workload, as well as analyse data, make decisions and own & resolve problems
  • Be a good team worker and be dependable, flexible and trustworthy
  • Be able to work Monday to Friday 08:00 until 16:00, but will not be required to work on weekends or bank holidays
