Trainee Timber Frame Designer
Job role

To develop the skills required to design off site manufactured timber frame buildings. This involves producing three dimensional computer models of the structural timber frame from architects and engineers designs to create drawings for manufacture and site construction.
Assist the design office with scheduling materials, producing construction drawing packages and liaising with the companies production team.
Communicating with architects, engineers, other designers, site operatives and clients during the process of timber frame design through to construction.
Learning industry specific computer programs to engineer and design floor joists and roof trusses.
Assisting with varied other office tasks within this rapidly developing company.

The ability to learn multiple complex computer programs quickly.
Excellent organisation of multiple tasks.

Relevant education

Architecture.
Architectural technology.
Building / timber engineering.
Construction studies.
Building technology.

Relevant work experience

Construction on site work.
CAD drafting.
Architectural design.

Experience is required in these computer programs

AutoCAD. Preferably the Architecture version and experience with three dimensional modelling.
