We are looking to employ an enthusiastic and committed Administrator to join our busy team at Croydon CAMHS.

You will be responsible for providing a proactive, comprehensive administrative and secretarial service to a multi-disciplinary team, enabling the team to operate effectively and efficiently.


The administrator is often the first point of contact for families/carers and other members of the child/young person's network and plays an important role in ensuring a good patient experience and positive image for the patient.


To provide support to our ARC (ADHD Review Clinic), by booking appointments, sending and receiving questionnaires and managing the ARC diary, as well as supporting a multi-disciplinary team.

Managing and overseeing the administrative component of the Trust patient database, i.e. inputting referrals and patient information, monitoring and updating operational data quality,

Communicating with families and professionals and responding to any queries.

  • To have excellent organisational and communication skills, a keen eye for detail and be used to a busy role.
  • To ensure that careful consideration to sensitive information and confidentiality is adhered to at all times.
  • Support the team with monitoring servicerelated data activity.


This is a challenging role working within an extremely busy office and it is therefore important that you are enthusiastic, motivated and able to work under pressure.

You must be able to demonstrate the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Managing and updating the ARC diary, speaking to families and professionals, sending out appointment letters and questionnaires.
  • Professional and confidential admin including copy typing, proofreading, photocopying, filing, scanning, post, accessing team member calendars, arranging appointments and meetings as required and make travel arrangement s for the team as required.
  • Ordering stationery and being responsible for the follow up of orders ensuring correct delivery and stock items for the team as appropriate.
  • Help people in a diplomatic and tactful manner, screening and routing calls as appropriate, taking clear and concise messages and dealing with general enquiries. Attending meetings and producing minutes.
  • Working independently, prioritising daily tasks and workloads and completed within agreed timescales. Manage multiple tasks while maintaining quality standards.
  • Be able to work in an unpredictable pattern, dealing with frequent interruptions.
  • Organising the booking of interpreters and translating correspondence where appropriate.
  • Add referrals to the Trust patient database within 24 hours of receipt. Trace patient NHS details through the National Tracing System. Oversee the administrative and contracting component of the Trust patient database, ensuring patient details are updated and accurate at all times while adhering to timescales and data protection.
  • Proactively monitor and update operational dataquality information to ensure targets and standards are met.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate waiting lists with the clinical team.
  • Contribute to Health and Safety requirements as requested by management. Post holder may be required to become Health and Safety Champion depending on service need.
  • Participate in preparing Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) events, conferences and projects.
  • Manage petty cash as required.
  • Support administrative trainees and temporary staff, ensuring access to ICT and relevant trust policies.
  • Contact Trust Estates and Facilities Department to report any faults or works which need doing.
