Salary;£24k-£27k (dependent on experience)


Hours;37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday. 8-4 or 9-5 (Hybrid Working)


Location;Rochdale

Full-time, permanent position.


_Legal & Recovery Associate Responsibilities;_


As a Legal & Recoveries Associate your primary responsibility will be handling customers who have defaulted on their motor finance agreement and require assessment for potential litigation.


  • The role purpose is to understand each customer's individual circumstances along with commercial factors and formulate an appropriate solution inline with company policy.
  • Assessing defaulted accounts transferred in from the Collections department and formulate a recovery strategy.
  • Performing 'Preaction Protocol' to ensure all regulatory aspects of the account handling have been adhered to.
  • Working with strategic partners to undertake legal action and asset recovery.
  • Communicating effectively with customers to understand their circumstances and reach a fair solution for the customer and the business.
  • Reviewing and managing insolvency cases (IVAs, DROs, Bankruptcy etc).

_What do we require as a Legal & Recovery Associate;_

  • A strong background in a regulated collections environment.
  • Good understanding of recovery and insolvency processes for CRA regulated secured and unsecured debts.
  • Experience working with vulnerable customers in line with FCA framework.
  • Excellent communication both verbal and written.
  • Experience of civil litigation in regulated financial services, including postjudgment enforcement action.
  • Adaptable to change and willing to embrace new ideas.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and deliver quality work across multiple tasks within required deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and work under pressure.
