Meadowfield are looking to recruit a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner to work across our three acute inpatient wards.This is a 12 month fixed term contract.
This is an innovative, newly established role which we are very excited to be able to offer to our patients.
Your main duties will be supporting individuals who are involved in harmful incidents and the staff working with them in developing and implementing Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSPs).
The aim is for the role to contribute to the reduction in the frequency and/or the intensity of harmful incidents and thus contribute to the recovery of individuals in turn promoting the well-being of staff.
You will be involved in the development of the role
The post holder will carry out assessments, develop plans and embed delivery with the ward teams working closely with service users, their carers and ward staff.
To protect the health and safety of our staff/workers, patients, and those attending our sites, we encourage our workforce to get fully vaccinated against COVID.
As a Behaviour Support Practitioner your role will be varied, but there will be a focus on multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working.
Clinical work is focussed on providing PBS informed assessments and developing behaviour support plans to the networks supporting people with complex challenging behaviour.
You will hold a small caseload offering assessment to understand the function of challenging behaviours and developing strategies that can be implemented to support the person and their network.
You will be supported by the wider MDT, who can offer advise and consultation, as well as providing specialist assessments to help ensure a holistic approach can be adopted.
You will assist in PBSPs becoming embedded in practice in the unit.
We provide mental health and learning disability care for children, young people and adults across Sussex and for children and young people in Hampshire.
