NHS Lanarkshire are looking to recruit a full time, permanent Activity Co ordinator based at University Hospital Hairmyres.

The post holder will create, plan and facilitate activities for patients.

They will tailor activities to suit the needs and abilities of the patients and plan, prepare and deliver relevant sessions for groups and individuals.

You will develop an activities programme and use a range of activities to provide group and individual sessions which promote physical, social and mental wellbeing, working closely with multidisciplinary team to provide meaningful activities.

You will communicate with the patient, relatives, carers and Multi-disciplinary team and external agencies involved in provision of patient's care, and will help coordinate education sessions and assist the senior charge nurse with ward education displays.


Knowledge, Training and/or Experience required to do the job:

  • Ability to fulfil the requirement of the job description including undertaking HCSW programme.
  • Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills/literacy/ numeracy skills
  • Ability to carry out assigned tasks effectively in a busy environment.
  • Ability to carry out rolling and individual programmes to assist/ encourage patients to maintain preexisting hobbies or interests

Please Note:

The post holder must be able to undertake a variety of shifts which include days, evenings, nights, weekends, public holidays and have the ability to rotate between different departments or sites when required.
