These growth plans include implementing a real time end-to-end Electronic Health Record (EHR) platform, a multi-million-pound investment, and part of our long-term digital transformation initiative.

Focused on advancing our technology and integrating web-based navigation, this EHR will allow HCA UK clinicians and colleagues to enhance patient safety, quality and care and to maintain our outstanding ratings and continue to be a global market leader in complex care.

Therefore, we are investing in a new workforce to lead this change, and we are actively recruiting now for a 2023 start, focused on change management, transforming work practices, and project delivery of goals and objectives.


In summary


The Project Management Lead is a key role in the Delivery workstream within the HCA UK division wide transformational programme that will introduce new ways of working for clinicians and colleagues providing front-line patient care through the new EHR system.

They will lead, facilitate and be responsible for business analyst activities required to support the implementation of new EHR systems/technologies and related processes.

They will be responsible for leading and managing project managers to ensure best practice and consistency, defining the project management framework, methodology, tools and required assets, providing an assurance of the project management delivery, ensuring project management controls are in place and the adherence to the EHR project governance processes.

They will work with key stakeholder groups (clinical and non-clinical) and facilitate contribution from staff across the HCA UK to ensure the robust and effective delivery of the programme, optimising the realisation of benefits.

This is a key lead role within the EHR Programme, essential to the successful delivery of an EHR solution.

This transformation project will enable the organisation to be more agile and innovative and will allow for the organisation to deliver long into the future the leading patient care it is already renowned for.


Specific deliverables and top priorities for this role are:

  • Lead the team of Project Managers within the Delivery workstream.
  • Responsible for the development of a consistent project management approach and framework.
  • Provide assurance for project management across the individual workstreams.
  • Responsible for ensuring the workstream level plans are aligned to a programme level, highlighting any synergies or dependencies.
  • Responsible for ensuring robust project closure activity including the transition to BAU.
  • Delivery of a significant change programme.
  • Experience of programme/project management delivery within a large transformation programme.
  • Excellent organisational and people management skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Programme/Project Management qualification.
