A business based on the outskirts of Scarborough (on A64) is currently recruiting for an Accounts Admin to join their team on a permanent basis.

The successful applicant will receive a competitive salary of up to £25,000 (dependent on experience and qualifications), as well as 23 days holiday plus bank holidays, modern offices, attractive, Monday to Friday working hours, study support and further.


As the Accounts Admin you will work as part of the Finance Team, primarily focussing on inventory, stock and variances.

You will be responsible for assisting the Management Accounting team, to ensure that accounts and reports are produced to a high standard of accuracy and your main responsibilities will be:


  • Inventory Control
  • Processing of weekly/monthly stockcounting and proactively investigation of errors.
  • Completing monthly stock reports.
  • Log any obsolete/slowmoving items noted from counts to review with the Management Accountant.
  • Preparation of weekly production reports for the Operations Team.
  • Prepare weekly variance reports, run settlement routines and review variances to highlight issues.
  • Combine permanent and temporary labour data to report variances against allowance, and review and action requirements.
  • Review new raw and tradeable materials required, checking classification, master data and impact on BOMs.
  • Process statement collate receipts, ensure authorisation in place and post.
  • Overheads: review and post monthly invoice accruals.
  • Collation of environmental data for monthly reporting.
  • Other ad hoc duties to support the wider team
To be successful in this Accounts Admin role, you will ideally have/be:

  • Working knowledge and experience of accountancy software such Sage, SAP or Xero, as well as MS Excel.
  • Strong communication skills and have a strong work ethic, with handson/cando attitude.
  • Experience of working within a finance team in a manufacturing setting would be an advantage, but is not essential.
  • Currently studying or AAT qualified would be beneficial, but is not essential. Likewise, this client can support you to begin your studies.


This is a great opportunity for someone looking for a new role, who ideally has some exposure to a similar responsibilities already - ideally you will have manufacturing or stock experience.

This role would also be ideal for somebody who is currently studying or is AAT qualified (or equivalent study/experience).

You may currently be a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant, Assistant Accountant, Accounts Administrator or Finance Officer who is looking for a new challenge.


Based in Scarborough, this role is commutable from Bridlington, Filey, Hummanby, Whitby, Malton, Sherburn, East Ayton, Pickering and surrounding areas, with onsite parking available.
