KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To embody the values, vision and ethos of The Stourport High School & VIth Form College and the Severn Academies Educational Trust.
  • Assist the Principal in delivering policy which will ensure high quality and successful outcomes for students and the school.

SPECIFIC DUTIES

  • Undertake reception duties, answering routine face to face enquiries and signing in students, staff, contractors and visitors
  • To issue of visitor and contractor passes in accordance with the Academy safeguarding process
  • To receipt, distribution, and accurate recording of deliveries, sorting and distributing internal and external mail, both incoming and outgoing
  • Telephone enquiries to record and to pass accurate messages to staff and students, and forward calls to appropriate telephone extensions, as required.
  • Dealing with routine enquiries from internal and external sources and making external calls as requested
  • Receiving and directing planned and unexpected visitors
  • Securely placing and documenting students confiscated phones
  • To sign students in and out following the schools safeguarding process at all times
  • Using Arbor to access student confidential details
  • Issuing school clothing as and when required inline with the ParentPay
  • Maintain a tidy reception area and stationary cupboard
  • Alerting SLT immediately when emergencies or sensitive issues arise in Reception area
  • Coordinate bookings for meeting rooms and minibus as and when required
  • Contact IT when their are queries from students
  • To assist with SLT of all reprographics equipment throughout the school
  • Provide resources e.g. toners, paper, consumables for all machines
  • Provide a service for copying to both external and internal customers
  • Organise routine maintenance on school photocopiers
  • Provide a copy service to the Exam Officer following examination results during exam publication time
  • Assist with the planning, monitoring and evaluation of the reprographics budget
- maintain up to date records of resources

  • Liaise with CAL in order to meet changing curriculum needs
  • Any other duties commensurate with the scale of the post as may be required under the direction of the Principal.

General Accountabilities

  • So far as reasonably practicable, the postholder must promote safe working practices by employees in school premises / work areas to maintain a safe working environment for employees and service users. These are defined in SAET Health and Safety policy.
  • Work in compliance with the Codes of Conduct, regulations and policies of the Trust and its commitment to equal opportunities.
  • Ensure that output and quality of work is of a high standard and complies with current legislation / professional standards.
