About this client:
Arthur (15) is a bright and sociable young lad who is in the heart of his loving family. He has 3 younger siblings (3, 10 and 11) and together they are a fun and active family. Swimming, trampolining, skiing, rock climbing and holidays including the CalvertTrust are just some of the activities they all enjoy.
As a result of an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), Arthur has cerebral palsy, developmental delay and requires support with all daily tasks.
He is an active wheelchair user and propels himself around and lovesusing his Alexa to voice activate his music and lighting systems.
Overview of role:
We are looking for a sociable, caring, and friendly Support Worker who will support andassist Arthur with all his daily living tasks, help him enjoy activities out and about, promote his independence and encourage functional skills.
In the afternoon, school holidays and weekends there could be variety of different outings and activities from trampolining, yoga, and swimming to therapy at home.
You will become part of a warmand fun-loving team; you don't need experience, just the willingness to learn new skills.
All training will be provided. The rota is prepared at least 3 months in advance with the whole team input.A shift can often include afterschool, on call night and amorning shift all-in-one, or a longer day at a weekend but flexibility is needed for shorter shifts occasionally.
Wage is £14.00 weekdays, £16.00 weekends, gross per hour.Who this job would suit

Although your focus will be primarily on Arthur you will be flexible and involve his siblings at times too.You will be self-motivated,engaging and thinking on your feet is a must Every day for Arthur is different, you will be able to adapt to the different aspects of this role.
