Reed Accountancy are proud to be working with a non-profit organisation. They are recruiting for a
Payroll/Finance Officer in a
full-timeand
permanentposition. This role is hybrid working with a minimum of 2-3 days in the office.

You will be working
35 hours per weekbut there is
flexibility when these hours are worked. Accountancy qualifications are not essential if you have experience with the duties listed below.

Key responsibilities:


  • Reconciling the bank account and suppliers' payments made by the Association
  • Posting of nominal/DD payments on financial system
  • Contributing to the Associations annual audit, preparing, and providing information as required
  • Carrying out accurate updating of the purchase ledger system, which will involve setting up and maintaining supplier accounts, processing and reconciling invoices against purchase orders
  • Dealing with enquiries from internal and external customers, which could include our employees, suppliers, and other stakeholders
  • Prepare and maintain payroll for the whole organisation, involving processing time sheets, expenses, sickness and other payroll related tasks
  • Process various statutory forms for example; P45s, P46s, Student Loans, P60 and P11d's etc
  • Manual calculation of salary including equated changes when necessary, including back pay, over/under payments, leavers, annual leave, and other ad hoc manual adjustments
  • Application of client statutory provisions of payroll including, PAYE, NI, SSP, SMP, SAP, Student Loans, and attachment of Earnings Orders etc.
  • Carry out client monthly processes essential for statutory and other returns and payments
  • Carry out client Year End processing requirements for statutory and other returns / payments and production of P60's
  • Carry out monthly reconciliations of the Payroll related control accounts and preparing journals for any corrections required as well as any submissions as needed.

You will need to demonstrate:


  • Experience of processing payroll information
  • Purchase ledger experience (desirable)
  • Experience using Excel and Word
  • Formation qualification or willingness to work towards gaining a formal qualification (desirable)
  • Able to work on own initiatives
  • Experience of reconciling nominal ledger records and supporting records (desirable)
  • Able to communicate clearly in both verbal and written formats
