Trainee Payroll Specialist - global manufacturer - Glasgow


Our client, a global manufacturer, is recruiting a Trainee Payroll Specialist, to be based at its north west Glasgow production facility.


As a member of the Payroll/HR team, you will be expected to manage the UK payrolls for all associates using Ceridian Dayforce Payroll software system.

Experience of using Ceridian software would be ideal.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Payroll Processing: Process companywide UK payrolls. Handle Time and Attendance posting & payroll reconciliations. Utilise payroll, human resources and systems knowledge to effectively partner with the HR Departments to meet the needs of the business.
  • Vendor Management: In conjunction with Human Resources, manage the system software service provider to ensure the company is receiving the best value for the service. Organise and schedule any system updates as required.
  • Continuous Learning: Maintain a working knowledge of Payroll, RTI and an understanding of applicable legislative requirements, human resources and operational issues related to the payroll area and interfaces.
  • Auditing: Participate with internal and external auditors to conduct audits.
  • Benefit Administration: Work closely with the Manager/HR department to ensure coordination and accuracy of all benefits. Oversee and ensure the accuracy of processing for relocation and other benefit payments.
  • Internal Controls: Maintain internal controls to ensure the integrity of the Payroll/HR system. Develop workflows and procedures documenting all processes ensuring maximum efficiency and adequate controls.
