Responsibilities:

Assist teachers in providing an appropriate learning environment and curriculum for students with special educational needs
Assist with classroom management, including individual and small group instruction
Work with teachers to develop Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with additional needs
Monitor student progress, provide feedback and support to teachers
Provide support for students during examinations, assessments and other activities
Liaise with other professionals such as parents, carers, social workers, speech and language therapists and educational psychologists
Support the development of students' independence and social skills

The Job:

Primary Teaching Assistant role in Workington, Cumbria
Fulltime, Term-Time position, Monday
Friday, 8.30am 3:30pm
Immediate starts available | £ £12 per hour
Primary Teaching Assistant based in KS1

Needed experience and qualifications:

Minimum of a Level 2 qualification within childcare
Strong A-Level and GCSE grades
Experience of working with children with SEND

- speech and language needs and SEMH needs

Training related to SEND e.g. Autism Awareness; Zones of
Regulation; Team Teach (safe handling)
Experience of working 1:1 or with small groups
Experience of using visual resources, including visual timetables; now & next boards; check lists
Experience of/training in phonics & early reading
Interest in Autism, Speech and Language
