Oxfam Helensburgh are looking for new volunteers to help sell a fabulous range of donated and new products in our store

This is a great opportunity if you are looking to get involved in the local community, boost your CV and skills, work with a great team of volunteers and of course to have fun


As an volunteer, you will help us sort and sell a range of donations and work with a great team of shop volunteers to raise money to fight poverty worldwide.


We are looking for people to take ownership of our homewares department, this is ideal if you have an interest in antiques and collectables or if you would like to learn about them.

You could learn how to date silver, date porcelain and pottery, decide if that's a watercolour or a print, identify items to sell online, use social media to promote the pretty and unusual

Here's what else you could be doing as an shop volunteer:

  • Welcoming customers and donors and helping them in the shop
  • Selling items at the counter
  • Providing a high level of customer service
  • Sorting and pricing a range of donations
  • Promoting our Gift-Aid scheme to maximise profits on donated items
  • Working with a team of volunteers to help the shop run smoothly
  • Keeping the shop clean, tidy and looking great
  • Helping with other key aspects such as cashing up, health and safety and meeting targets

Please note this is an unpaid volunteer position, however reasonable travel and lunch expenses can be covered in line with our policy.
Don't worry about previous experience, our shop managers are there to train and support you in your new role
