Acorn is currently recruiting on behalf of their client Tata Steel, which operates a Lime Manufacturing Plant at Shap, Cumbria.

To be successful for this role, you will:

Be conscientious, safety-focused, and be a good team player
Have worked in a similar environment
Have a keen eye for detail, with an exceptional timekeeping and attendance record
Hold a CCNSG Site safety Passport, or have the ability to obtain one (essential)
Have a full UK driving licence (essential)

Pay:
£12 - £14 per hour, once fully trained.
- £12ph is the standard starter rate and is available to shift staff who can undertake standard operator tasks including housekeeping, conveyor cleaning, poking, bagging and other tasks as directed by the Supervisor.
- £13ph is available to those who can complete the above PLUS load rail carriages and drive the loco, load lime, and operate all the mobile tools (including loading shovel, telehandler, FLT and slimes wagon).
- £14ph is available if you can complete all the above PLUS cover full shifts properly in Kiln control, assess trends, etc - this is not just covering meal breaks - and also are able to carry out full lab duties. The £14ph rate will require a solid knowledge and understanding of the Unit trainers and the ability to call up and analyse trends and similar.

Hours:
standard shift pattern of 4 on 4 off, 12-hour shifts, 2 days and 2 nights
