This is an exciting time to join the Northern Care Alliance.

The Client Affairs and Client Finance team are looking to recruit a Financial Assessment Officer to join their busy team.

Your mains duty will be to carry out financial assessments work on behalf of Salford City Council - we are looking to recruit someone who will bring along a fresh and energetic approach to enable us to provide a top quality services for our service users and colleagues.


Ideally you will have experience in Adult Social Care Finance and have a detailed understanding and knowledge of welfare benefits.

We are seeking to appoint a Financial Assessment Officer, who can complete accurate and timely assessments for Adult Social Care customers in accordance with legislation, policies and the working practices amongst other duties.


We are looking for self-motivated individuals who work well as part of a team with excellent communication and customer service skills.


We work with vulnerable clients and therefore someone who can demonstrate empathy and understanding of this client group is essential.


Main duties of the job:


Carry out financially assessments for service users in receipt of adult social care and those who have been made permanent in residential care in line with the Care Act regulations.

To monitor and audit Direct Payment accounts and recover excess balances in line with Directorate procedures.

To coordinate the ordering and distribution of monies for client affairs service users.

To maintain financial records, pay invoices, raise invoices for charges, reconcile accounts, bank and code income.


To offer support and advice to Service Users and their representatives, on financial matters pertaining to residential care and Deferred Payments.

To assess income and benefits and advise entitlement.

Gain experience of using a variety of IT packages including Microsoft Office, Business Objects, SAP, Controcc and Liquid Logic systems


Be involved in helping to develop the teams processes to enable us to streamline and improve how we do things and how we can do things even better.
