Description

To work as a senior healthcare assistant on Chartwell ward which cares for up to 18 females ranging from 18-65 years old suffering from various Mental Health conditions.


The Senior Healthcare Assistant is a key member of the multidisciplinary care team and will have continuing responsibility to deliver an effective and competent level of care under the guidance and supervision of the MultiDisciplinary Team (MDT) and as determined by the patient's care plan.

You must be fully aware of the needs of patients over a 24 hour span of care. Monitor, report and maintain a healthy, safe and secure workplace by knowing and taking account of the Health and Safety at Work Act Reporting injuries, diseases and dangerous occurrences regulations Control of substance Hazardous to Health (1985), European H&S
Regulations Numbers 1-6, Food Act (1996), Adhere to Trust policies and local service protocols.


Staff will need to demonstrate a good knowledge of adult inpatient care and be able to role model and supervise junior staff.

Staff to engage and lead ward audits and support staff to maintain KMPT and national ward standards.

You will join a multi-disciplinary team, working with Adults who have a wide range of mental health needs. You will enjoy working at a challenging pace, and will be self-motivated, proactive, flexible, and enthusiastic.


You will need to be able to function as part of a team and have an interest in initiating therapeutic engagement with the service users.

Your approach must be person-centred, placing the patient at the centre of all decision making.

You will be a role model to junior staff and support the MDT in delivering patient centred care. Undertaking a wide range of care needs for our patients.
