Our client is a specialist Children's charity based in Manchester looking to recruit an experience and qualified Registered Manager to lead and develop their respite service for children and young people with a diagnosis of Autism and/or Learning Disability.

The service base in South Manchester offers short respite stays and an outreach service to provide holistic support to children, young people, and their parent/carers.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an innovative child and family centered provision that creates bespoke packages of support enabling families to cope and beyond that to thrive.

Synopsis of duties

Managing a specialist 5 bedroomed short respite provision for children/young people with LD/Autism and their families
Leading and managing a team of support workers, having direct involvement in casework, and providing regular supervisions with all staff
Maintaining active engagement of all safeguarding matters so issues are dealt with in the best interests of the child
Providing occasional cover for the Residential Support Workers or Outreach Workers post as and when required.

Essential Requirements

Experience within a senior/team leader/deputy role within a residential children's home, supporting children and their families with SEND/Sensory Disorder, Learning Disabilities and/or Autism (nonverbal)
Experience of managing a team of residential support workers
Minimum Level 5 Leadership & Management qualification or working towards relevant management/supervisory qualification
Experience of overseeing CQC / OFSTED inspections
Strong safeguarding and risk assessments skills and experience
