Description

Our public sector client are seeking a Payroll officer to work on a hybrid basis in the area of Ealing.

3 months - possible extension

£17.05 per hour PAYE

£22.36 per hour Umbrella


Ensuring that all Payroll tasks are completed to the required standard and on time for all staff enabling the directorates to deliver their business objectives.

iTrent experience preferrable, but not essential.


SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

***- Responsible to the Payroll Team Leader for undertaking the duties required of the post.

  • The post holder will normally prioritise his or her own work and require mínimal supervision.
  • Maintains a current and thorough knowledge of all aspects of the payroll module within iTrent System including reporting functions.
  • Deals with all issues relating to the payroll administration affecting own area of work and only refer exceptional or ambiguous issues to the Payroll Team Leader.**
  • Provides training for managers and school's staff on area of own responsibility dealing with Statutory Payments and the interpretation of tax and other payroll operational regulations.
  • Promotes effective customer liaison with Schools and those in receipt of HRSSC Payroll Services.**
  • Undertakes training of new team members of staff.
  • Deputises for the Payroll Team Leader on service issues, covering a range of functions and payroll activities as required.
  • Ensure automated Business Objects reports are sent to schools and internal recipients. These include Temporary input, Pre and Post Payday reports, etc.
  • Set up and process salary deductions and liaising with third parties e.g., Childcare Vouchers, Ealing Credit Union, Season Ticket Loans, etc.
  • Running correspondence letters to staff including Pension enrolment letters, Sick Pay entitlements letters, Overpayment letters, etc.
  • Running Jasper reports once Payrolls are calculated and ensure all discrepancies or errors are dealt with and amended.
  • Ensure all tasks as set out on the monthly processing checklist are completed in a timely manner.
