Description
The post holder will chair a monthly multi-disciplinary group to ensure the delivery and implementation of the eye care support pathway is achieved across the sector, and across agreed pathways in the first two years


Impact:

There are no direct line management responsibilities, although the post holder will be responsible for chairing and collaborating with a wide range of external stakeholders, including NHS professionals, professional bodies and the third sector across the UK.

The post holder will be provided with administrative and project management support.

The Clinical Lead will support the recruitment of an additional 1 SPA specific to the condition which the team are developing.


Financial Responsibility:
The post holder will have no direct monetary responsibility


Decision Making Responsibility:
Strategic decision making in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary task group


Main Accountabilities:
Lead a multi-professional/sector group to integrate nonclinical support into ophthalmic pathways which can be adopted across the UK. The clinical pathways include Age-related Macular Degeneration, Cataracts, Diabetic Macular Oedema, Glaucoma, Genetic Retinal pathways.


Lead a multi-professional/sector group to improve access to and the quality of emotional support provided at the point of diagnosis within the NHS.

Provide expert information, advice and guidance to senior leaders within RNIB to support the integration of the pathway within the NHS and social care systems.

Demonstrate a clear commitment to working collaboratively with partners at a local regional and national level. Undertake any other duties commensurate with the post.


Adhere to all RNIB policies and complete training on Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults and be able to understand and implement the training accordance with Safeguarding policies and procedures.

Take responsibility for reporting any safeguarding concerns to the Safeguarding Team and Line Manager.
