The job of the General Assistant is to take care of providing awesome catering services to our clients, including providing free issue lunches, snacks and hospitality catering.


To provide an amazing lunch service at the assigned Grazing site, smashing our customers' highest expectations each and every time; putting smiles on as many people's faces as we can with our fantastic food and sensational service.


To follow all company procedures correctly and be motivated to take initiative, ownership and continuously strive for the highest standards,
displaying and serving our food with pride and perfection.

Responsibilities of Job


Catering Service:


  • To receive daily food deliveries and carry out checks against delivery note.
  • To set up and display the lunch buffet on time.
  • Running a smooth lunch service every day.
  • To monitor the lunch buffet throughout service and replenish any food items if necessary.
  • To deliver exceptional customer service with your personality and smile, welcoming every single customer.
  • Building positive client relationships, ensuring a focus on their needs whilst delivering on the Grazing values of Wow, Fun & People.
  • To direct the client to your line manager when issues arise and communicate any important client feedback to your line manager in a timely fashion.
  • To take ownership of the site and implement new ideas to make improvements to customer experience.
  • To assist with regular theme days, by decorating the lunch area and contributing to the development of new ideas for fab and creative theme days that wow our customers time and time again.
  • To manage and record correctly all temperature readings at the correct timings.
  • To complete standing orders on time daily.
  • To complete and record daily covers for lunch and wastage of food.
  • To carry out daily cleaning of all work surfaces that come in contact with food, serving equipment, fridges and hot holding equipment.
  • To carry out weekly deep clean duties involving fridges, hot cupboards, hot plates, soup kettle and storage cupboards/shelves.
  • To be responsible for taking care of all company's equipment ensuring it is stored safely away at the end of the shift.
  • To complete monthly stocktake onsite, ensuring accurate stock figures are provided on the last working day of each month.
  • To clear away after lunch service ensuring all surfaces are clean, rubbish disposed of and equipment stored away correctly.
  • To work alongside and support the Grazing Hospitality Assistant role at RenRe, working as a team to provide a seamless catering service to our client.
  • And any other reasonable duties required in the course of the role.

Office Pantry Ordering & Stocking

  • To place orders over the phone or internet with the supplier from approved product lists.
  • To complete regular replenishing of stock in the cupboards and fridges.
  • To control stock and rotation of stock to reduce waste.
  • To receive deliveries and check against delivery note before signing.
  • To record any shortages of breakages on the delivery notes and provide details to your line manager in order to obtain credit notes.

People Management:


  • To manage your own time efficiently and effectively to ensure all responsibilities are completed on time.

Health & Safety:


  • To ensure all relevant health & safety and food safety legislation is followed onsite.
  • To ensure that all electrical equipment onsite is kept in working order, kept clean, has clear operating instructions, is secure and safe.
  • To ensure you do not use any equipment onsite that you have not received appropriate training for
  • To maintain hygiene standards; ensuring that your actions and procedures comply with Food Hygiene Regulations.
  • Ensuring relevant allergens information are present onsite and you are fully aware of all allergens legislation and company policies and, specifically knowing where to find allergens information for each dish, how to check this and your duty to inform customer of correct allergens information when requested.
