The Calisen Group is in an exciting and strong position where we are seeing growth and development in all areas of the business.

As a result of this growth, an exciting opportunity has become available within our finance department for a Purchasing Assistantwho will be responsible for procuring goods and services for the Calisen Group, whilst ensuring supply chain compliance and governance.


This position requires sound understanding or purchasing practises, identifying new suppliers, processing purchase orders, manage inventory, contract, and supplier management etc..

The role also requires excellent analytical skills in gathering/assistingin the inputting of information through various management information systems for analysis and to identify procurement improvement opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Updating the team about any delays or problems with suppliers.
  • Process purchase requisitions and orders.
  • Analysing vendor spend and providing reports.
  • Researching new products and vendors.
  • Compare and evaluate offers from vendors.
  • Negotiating contracts with vendors.
  • Presenting cost analyses to the departments.?
  • Maintaining records of vendor information and contracts.?
  • Maintaining strong relationships with vendors.
  • Performing credit and sanctions checks on new vendors and updating systems.
  • Performing retrospective due diligence on current vendors and updating systems.
  • Following up with Vendors.?

What we are looking for

  • Good standard of education (GCSEs including English & Maths or equivalent).
  • Hold an MCIPS qualification or be working towards this.
  • 5 years' experience within a similar purchasing assistant role with knowledge of purchasing function, inventory, and supply management systems.
  • Experience using webbased systems.
  • Use of excel to an advanced level providing data analytics and analysis.
  • Able to establish and develop relationships with internal and external sources.
  • Analytical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to determine upcoming trends.
