Student Casework Assistant:

Job description

Are you looking for your next exciting career opportunity? We could have the perfect role for you.

We are looking for a Student Casework Assistant to join the USW family on a fixed-term contract for a period of 12 months.

We have a professional, welcoming and flexible working environment where you can further develop and undertake worthwhile work that makes a difference.

This is an exciting role, which is critical in ensuring our student casework is effectively administered.

We are seeking someone who has excellent written and verbal communication skills.

You must be able to deliver work of a very high standard in a service area where attention to detail and the ability to prioritise and manage challenging deadlines is critical.

Staff within the Student Casework Unit have to deal with sensitive and potentially distressing matters and, consequently, a high degree of emotional resilience is imperative.

Academic Registry is one of the University of South Wales' (USW) professional service departments, delivering a range of key administration and information services for students throughout their studies, from enrolment to graduation.

We also oversee the University's arrangements for academic quality assurance and enhancement and provide casework services for students.

This is a fixed-term role for a period of 12 months.

The University is currently operating a hybrid model of working; however, you will be expected to work on campus for part of the week.

While the role will be based in Academic Registry at Pontypridd, you may also be required to work at the University's other campuses at Cardiff and Newport.

Benefits on offer include 30 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, a generous pension scheme and family friendly policies. A flexible approach to working hours may be necessary, with some work occasionally taking place outside normal office hours.

Our people are our most important resource.

We aim to enable staff to develop careers within the Academic Registry and across the wider HE sector, offering developmental and career enhancing opportunities.

We embrace the University's Core Values and the Association of University Administrators 'Professional Behaviours Framework'.
