To operate in a team carrying out the identification and cataloging of a high volume of documents and engineering drawings.
This involves finding, highlighting, and cataloguing all relevant reference documentation and drawings. Ensuring internal systems are maintained accurately with consideration for export control ratings whilst documenting.
Additional responsibilities will include activities such as self and peer checking, status updates, reporting, customer meetings etc.
Required Skills (Technical Competency):
- Record engineering documents and drawings to find, highlight and catalogue the relevant data
- Use the provided database to record findings, catalogue data and add comments
- Carry out selfchecks and peer checks on complete documentation to mitigate errors
- Access Microsoft office, push folders, and use PDF readers as requested by the team
- Update daily tracker and when required share updates with stake holders in weekly standup meetings
- Assessment of any exportcontrolled data
- Coordinate and collaborate with your team and managers
- Chase task owners to ensure that tasks are progressing
- Contribute to the development of best practices and productivity improvement
Desired Skills:
- Excellent Computer Literacy with experience of using Microsoft Office & PDF reader tools
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and a diverse staff population
- Must be confident, resourceful, highly organised and be able to work with little direct intervention
- Selfstarter also able to work well within a large team
- High level of accuracy with attention to detail
- Quick learner in fast paced environment
- Problem solving ability
- Logical thinking
- Effective time management
Experience:
- Applicants should have experience supporting administrative/coordination activities
- A background in an engineering environment would be advantageous
- Previous experience reading engineering drawings would be advantageous
Knowledge:
- Understanding cataloguing/ data logging and export control would be beneficial
- A good understanding of Microsoft Excel and its use
- A basic understanding of gas turbine engines and their components
Qualifications:
- A Levels /similar or relevant experience in manufacturing/engineering industry
