Description
Specialist Clinician with the Colorectal Healthy Bowel Service at LUHFT

This is an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Clinician to support the Colorectal Healthy Bowel Service managing patients across Merseyside with functional bowel disorders including constipation, obstructive defecation and faecal incontinence.

Working with the Colorectal multidisciplinary team across Liverpool University Hospitals you will play a key role in contributing to this high quality patient centred service including involvement and participation at MDT meetings and outpatient clinics.

On a day to day basis you will have your own out-patient clinic stream, providing specialist assessment of Healthy Bowel Clinic patients, ordering and interpreting appropriate investigations and using sound clinical reasoning skills to implement agreed treatment plans within local and national guidelines.

You will be supported by the Advanced Clinical Practitioner, Colorectal Consultants and Managers in further developing your skills in order to fulfill this role.

You will be responsible for a specialty work stream within the Healthy Bowel Clinic eg Trans - anal irrigation or Biofeedback, depending on your knowledge and skills.

You will lead training and development in that area, including carrying out clinical audit, maintaining up to date knowledge and skills as well as preparing and delivering presentations to a variety of audiences as required.

Participation in research would be supported.

As part of the Healthy Bowel Clinic Team you will be supported and given the opportunity to complete appropriate training courses, reflect on the content and disseminate the information to colleagues as cascade training and, where appropriate, to inform further service developments and clinical pathways.
