About the role


Lambeth Community Safety are offering an opportunity to be part of a team that leads on the operational delivery of a pan-borough approach to disrupting perpetrators of violence, in line with Lambeth's Borough Plan objective of reducing Serious Violence.

We are looking for a skilled individual to support the development and lead the operational delivery of a pan-borough approach to disrupting perpetrators of violence in collaboration with the Prevention and Response manager and lead on managing partnership interventions to disrupt the activity of high-risk perpetrators and members of organised crime networks who are criminally exploiting children and young people in the borough and increasing the risk of serious violence.

As part of this role, you will be expected to:

  • Act as the single point of contact for all council staff and external agencies, relating to violence disruption activity, providing sound advice and guidance about access to appropriate interventions and support.
  • Support the ongoing review and development of the response to serious crime incidents within the borough, ensuring a clear response to critical incidents is understood and clear action plans are devised and delivered to.
  • Lead post serious crime incident response action planning to ensure the effective coordination of a range of council and partner resources, for up to a month after the incident. This will include leading environmental visual audits with key stakeholders including local residents and Councillors.

To be considered for interview, your CV and supporting statement will clearly evidence:

  • Knowledge of current issues affecting community safety and violent crime with a particular focus on organised crime / gangs and serious youth violence, criminal exploitation and partnership working in London.
  • Awareness of appropriate interventions and techniques to disrupt criminal exploitations of children and young people by organised crime groups
  • Experience of community safety in a culturally diverse urban authority with multiple deprivation and complex social issues
  • Experience of working with partners across voluntary, statutory, community and business sectors.
  • Experience of delivering objectives within a highly pressurised environment.
  • Experience of working within a public protection / safeguarding / multiagency setting. e.g. Child protection, vulnerable adults, MARAC, MAPPA, Gangs
