Staff365 are recruiting for an experienced Transport Planner on a permanent basis for our client located in Barnsley.

Salary:
£25,000 - £30,000 DOE

Hours of work:
Monday - Friday 08:00-16:30

Main Responsibilities:

Effectively plan loads to vehicles ensuring on-time deliveries and collections are achieved and exceed company targets.

Supervise driver performance alongside the transport team.

Provide vehicles and trailers for maintenance as scheduled, supplied by the transport manager.

Plan drivers' workload to comply with driver's hours and working time legislation.

Attend operational meetings and other review meetings as required.

Develop a strong understanding of the company group network to enable full synergy with the overall group.

Seek areas for continual operational improvement.

Comply with and help further develop Health, Safety and Environmental guidelines.

Experience Required:

Previous transport industry experience.

Strong customer service skills

Good verbal communication skills and ability to engage with your driving team.

Attention to detail, and desire to solve problems, and good time management.

A flexible team member with a flexible approach to the daily workload.
