- We are partnering with an Freight Forwarding organisation who is seeking a Transport Planner to join their busy distribution team based in Grimsby.
Responsibilities;
- Routing of delivery vehicles
- Managing drivers and vehicles
- Assisting in organizing all aspects of the transport operation
- Efficient use of vehicles and drivers
- Using internal software to input bookings and liaise with transport planners
- Organizing export goods and trailers in groups.
- Reserve export trailers on departing ferries.
- Any customs knowledge advantageous
- Group age planning for delivery of group age trailers within the UK
Skills Required;
- Excellent organisation skills
- Understanding export customs is preferable.
- Understanding hazardous cargo is preferable.
- Skilled in IT
- Part load and groupage operations experience is preferred.
- Strong geographical knowledge
- Experience working within the transport and logistics industry
- Knowledge of group age operations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
