This post is fixed term for 23 months to meet the needs of the service.

To provide high quality day care to all the children attending the UHB day care settings. To work under the supervision of the nursery staff.


To attend regular review meetings with the supervisor and assessor, leading to an Apprenticeship Qualification in Children's Care, Play, Learning & Development (CCPLD) Level 2.


This qualification consists of:

  • Level 2 Diploma in CCPLD


  • Essential Skills

  • Application of Number (AON) Level


  • Essential Skills

  • Communication Level


  • Essential Skills

  • Digital Literacy Level 1

Nursery Apprentice -The Teddy Bear Nursery - University Hospital Llandough
Fixed Term Training Contract.


Key responsibilities include:


  • To assist all key workers with the children and the environment.
  • To assist in making contributions towards observations and developmental reports for each child.
  • To liaising with parents regularly.
  • To assist in working in partnership with the team and the parents so that positive and professional behaviours are maintained with colleagues and with the children.

To be considered for the role you will be:

  • You will need to have a committed interest in working with children and their families within a day care setting.
  • This role will involve working varying shifts between the hours of Monday and Friday from 7.00am 6:00pm so flexibility is required.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
