The Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust has a vacancy for a Band 4 Project Support Officer.

This is a secondment /fixed term for 12 months, working full time (37.5 hours per week), Monday-Friday each week.


We are looking to recruit a highly motivated, enthusiastic and flexible individual to provide project support to the Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust Improvement Programme.


You will primarily be based at Castle Hill Hospital but there will be the need to also work from Hull Royal Infirmary to be able to fulfil the duties of this role.


The purpose of the HUTH Improvement Programme is to facilitate the delivery of the Trust's Vision and long-term goals, promoting values through the provision of expertise and capacity.


Supporting teams in designing and implementing new ways of working that improve the quality of care we provide for patients and the productive and effective use of our resources.


You will be working as part of a team, providing project and administrative support to ensure successful delivery of projects to the timescales identified in the project plans.


Developing and maintaining project documentation and will be the first point of contact for project enquires from end users and project key stakeholders.

Previous experience of working within a project or programme management function would be desirable but not essential.


We are looking for team players with excellent communication and organisational skills, who are both flexible and adaptable in their approach to work.

The post-holders will need to work independently in a diverse and interesting office environment, using their initiative to prioritise their workload, multi-task and maintain confidentiality.

The successful applicants will join a friendly and supportive team that values the contribution of all staff.

You will have excellent communication skills and be able to work calmly and confidently under pressure.


You will be required to use your own initiative, and have an ability to prioritize work in order to keep on top of the workload of this very active team.


Excellent keyboard skills and experience in the use of Microsoft Office and Word packages are essential attributes for this post.


This is a busy and varied role, one which requires the post holder to have a flexible approach to working and their duties.

The post is full time 37.5 hours, Monday - Friday

The role requires both onsite across both trust and home working.

Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust strongly encourages new starters to have the Covid-19 vaccine. However, it is not a mandatory requirement to work for us.


HUTH has two main sites:
Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital with an annual budget of approximately £800 million.

The Trust employs around 11,000 staff and serves an extended population of 1.25 million, delivering a number of outpatient services from locations across the area.


The Trust's secondary care service portfolio is comprehensive, covering the major medical and surgical specialties, routine and specialist diagnostic services and other clinical support services.

These services are provided primarily to a catchment population of approximately 600,000 in the Hull and East Riding of Yorkshire area.


HUTH provides specialist and tertiary services to a population of 1.25 million extending from Scarborough in North Yorkshire to Grimsby and Scunthorpe in North East and North Lincolnshire respectively.
