**THE COMPANY
**A global insurance company with a massive presence in the UK, as a leading insurance company. They provide a full range of retail, commercial and health insurance services. The company is looking to build a new team within their finance sector to deliverthe latest in Modelling, reporting and Microsoft Azure cloud platform.
THE ROLE
You can expect to be involved in the following:
- Develop data science solutions to business problems.
- Contribute to the advanced analytics hopper, helping keep it updated and refreshed with new use cases.
- Identify opportunities or business problems where advanced analytics can be solved with data science; be a point of contact for data science projects, including meetings with stakeholders.
- Sell the vision of advanced analytics and databased decision making to wider stakeholders. Stakeholder management and engagement with both technical and nontechnical teams.
- Keep up to speed with latest trends in the market and ensure Claims Analytics are leading the way.
- Help develop, roll out and drive data science strategy and standards across team.
**The successful Data Scientist will have the following skills and experience: - Experience in a statistical and/or data science role
- Experience in software engineering
- Experience using PySpark to process large scale data
- Python experience that demonstrates coding in Jupyter
- Notebooks and also the ability to write productionised code (e.g. a Flask API to serve a model).
- To be able to demonstrate the regular use of Version Control software e.g. git.
- Familiarity with Graph ML or NLP.
- Developed experience with Python and knowledge of machine learning, statistics and/or optimization
- Experience working with cloud data platforms (Databricks, Azure, AWS)
- Experience of delivering end to end data science solutions to achieve business benefit
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with a strong desire to work in cross functional teams
