Are you dedicated to improving public health and enhancing community well-being? Do you have a passion for environmental issues and a desire to make a difference? Belfast City Council is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join the team as Environmental Health Officers.


Your Duties:

  • Conduct enforcement, investigative, educational, and advisory tasks to uphold environmental standards.
  • Participate in structured development programs to enhance professional skills and knowledge.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to achieve service objectives and deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Undertake project work under the guidance of senior officers.
  • Manage workload efficiently to meet targets and deliver quality services.
  • Provide accurate reports, records, and statistical information as required.
  • Stay updated on developments in environmental health through continuous learning and development.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for improving work practices and service delivery.
  • Contribute to training activities and recruitment processes as needed.
  • Maintain the reputation and public profile of Belfast City Council through professional conduct and exemplary service delivery.

Your Profile:

Essential Criteria:

Qualifications:

  • Hold a recognised qualification as an Environmental Health Officer, including either:
  • Certificate of Registration from the Environmental Health Officers' Registration Board, or
  • Diploma in Environmental Health awarded by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) or equivalent.
  • Possess a valid full driving license enabling operation in Northern Ireland and access to a vehicle for official duties, or have reliable access to transportation meeting job requirements.
