Job Title:
Finance Administrator


Role Overview:

Finance Administration tasks, such as, Banking entries and organising Payments, Auditing and processing Colleague Expenses. The department looks after many centralised activities so there are multiple tasks. Processes and Tasks carried out will vary over time.


Your objectives and responsibilities will focus on

Cash and Banking Processing

  • Processing bank transactions and payments via various mechanisms
  • Running automated payment processes using our Finance system eg preparing BACS runs, Overseas Payment runs
  • Processing 'one off' or 'regular' manual payments via our Banking system (Barclays.
NET) eg set up and maintaining Payee Templates for payees

  • Checking all Manual payment requests are complete and authorised, keying these onto the system
  • Ensuring monthly overseas payrolls and Monthly Pension are paid
  • Contacting payment requestors, or the Accounts Payable teams and other colleagues (or Barclays) if any queries to solve problems
  • Allocation of Cash Receipts to the correct Debtor accounts
  • Working with Credit Services (Accounts receivable) to ensure that the cash is allocated accurately and on time

Employee Expenses (Concur expenses system)

  • Carrying out 'audits' of Expense claims before payment to ensure they are compliant with our policies and have relevant receipts
  • Contacting claimants to seek further information where necessary and assist them with making their claims
  • Setting up new users and processing leavers on our Expenses system and payment ledgers
  • Running reports from Concur to look at Approval routes, and making corrections/updates to routes for leavers and joiners
We endeavour to 'team work' within Central Finance and this role will (over time) be supporting varied tasks and working with others


Your previous experience is likely to include.

  • Accounting background or experience within an Accounts department (or experience gained in another technical role)
  • Understanding of logical accounting principles
  • Accounting system experience
